My Dad asked me to speak with him. He was going to send Mum to New York as a birthday present. 'Would I likle to go with her?' he asked. I thought about it for a nanosecond and then bit his hand off!
So Mum and I flew to the Big Apple for four days and three nights and it was brilliant! We stayed in a fab hotel in Mid Town and took in all the usual sights, including the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Times Square, Central Park and Gound Zero. The latter was incredibly moving, being as it was still very much a scar in the ground, a sort of open wound that reminded you of the destruction that had taken place there.
We, of course, took in some shopping while we were there and my gift to Mum was a trip to Broadway to watch "Phantom of the Opera" - brilliant!
